HSGA MEMBERSHIP NOW OPEN TO INDIVIDUALS

For the first time in its 16-year history, membership in Hawaii State Golf Association is open to individuals. Until now, amateur golfers in Hawaii had to belong to a golf club with at least 10 members in order to join HSGA. In an effort to serve even more golfers in the state, HSGA is now pleased to offer associate membership to individual amateur golfers on all islands.

Hawaii State Golf Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1984 to promote and serve the best interest of golf in the State of Hawaii. HSGA is the governing body for amateur golf in the Aloha State, the official USGA representative for Hawaii and the official provider for golf handicapping.

As a general member of HSGA, male and female golfers of all ages can enjoy fair and honest competition with other golfers through the USGA Golf Handicap Information Network. An advantage for both associate and general members to belong to the organization is the HSGA Preferred Member Discount Program, saving members at least 10% at participating businesses all over Hawaii. Simply by showing their "Preferred Member" cards, HSGA members save money on green fees, golf equipment and attire, golf club repairs, sporting goods and even meals at fine restaurants and golf courses.

Among the many other benefits HSGA offers both associate and general members are consultation services, seminars on rules, golfing news, amateur status reinstatement, course measuring, course and slope ratings, pace ratings and amateur golf competitions. Among HSGA's outstanding tournaments are the Manoa Cup Hawaii amateur match play championship, the state amateur stroke play championship, and USGA Championship Qualifiers for the US Open, US Senior Open, US Mid-Amateur, US Amateur and US Senior Amateur competitions. And there are more exciting events yet to come.

If you love golf, you'll get even more out of the game when you join the Hawaii State Golf Association. The low membership fees go to benefit amateur golf in Hawaii in countless ways. To find out more about membership in Hawaii State Golf Association, call 589-2909.
