NEW CARD SLICES PRICES FOR HAWAII GOLFERS
Hawaii State Golf Association's new membership card will soon be on its way to more than 8,000 golfers throughout the islands. This new card is more than a symbol of membership in the state's largest amateur golf association. It also represents a way for Hawaii golfers to save money at businesses all over the state. A special sticker on each card tells the story: It reads "Preferred Member Discount Card." It entitles HSGA members to at least a 10% saving on goods and services such as golf equipment and attire, golf club repairs, green fees and meals at select restaurants.
Hawaii State Golf Association is a nonprofit corporation that was founded in 1984 to promote and serve the best interests of golf and golfers in Hawaii. The association's major goal is to have everyone in the state under one reliable handicapping system--the USGA's computerized Golf Handicap Information Network. This will create an environment in which all golfers can compete on an equitable basis.
As the official USGA representative for the State of Hawaii, HSGA also offers members many great benefits, including golf competitions, USGA qualifiying events, golf seminars and consulting, amateur status reinstatement, and course and slope ratings. Now, with the new Preferred Member Discount Card, HSGA even offers its members money-saving opportunities from a growing list of businesses who enthusiastically support amateur golfers in Hawaii. Among these businesses are: On Oahu, Dugan's Sticks, Golf Action Repairs, Golf Nut, Golf Stix Hawaii, Hawaii Prince Golf Club, Makaha Golf Club, Makaha Valley Country Club, Miki Second Hand Golf Shop, Parfection Golf, Piece of Time, Pro-Am Golf USA, Roy's Golfworks, The Sports Authority, Surfrider Golf Shop, Tom's Golf Shop and West Loch Golf Shop; and on Maui, Kit's Golf and Prestige Golf Service. The list is growing by leaps and bounds, and will soon include a variety of select restaurants.
Hawaii State Golf Association is a helpful friend to all Hawaii golfers--young and old, male and female. So if you belong to a golf club in Hawaii, or would like to form one, they're the ones to call. Their phone number on Oahu is 589-2909.
