Hawaii State Golf Association is a nonprofit corporation that was founded in 1984 to promote and serve the best interests of golf and golfers in Hawaii. The association's major goal is to have everyone in the state under one reliable handicapping system--the USGA's computerized Golf Handicap Information Network. This will create an environment in which all golfers can compete on an equitable basis.

As the official USGA representative for the State of Hawaii, HSGA also offers members many great benefits, including golf competitions, USGA qualifiying events, golf seminars and consulting, amateur status reinstatement, and course and slope ratings.
